Funk, soul & disco DJ, Jazz FM presenter and sometime singer for Wah Wah 45s.
Anne Frankenstein is a DJ and broadcaster based in east London, specialising in soul, disco, funk, latin, afrobeat, early rap, jazz and exotica. Since learning to DJ at the age of 15 in her home town of Dublin, Anne has amassed a deep and diverse knowledge of music through digging for vinyl around the world, and hosting a regular radio show on Resonance FM for several years - picked by comedian and writer Stewart Lee as a ‘Cultural Highlight’ for two years running.
She can now be found spinning vinyl at some of the hippest venues in London, including The Ned, Oslo, Spiritland, Hospital Club, The Barbican, Jazz Cafe, Bussey Building, Dandelyan (which was recently voted ‘Best Bar in the World’ at the international Spirited Awards) and at events for a diverse selection of brands ranging from Wrangler to Bloomberg to Channel 4.
Anne can also be heard presenting the weekend playlist every Saturday and Sunday afternoon on Jazz FM and on her specialist show The Late Lab every Thursday night, as well as hosting the Adventures in Sound podcast for prominent BBC producers Folded Wing. Anne also performs with Wah Wah 45s tropical funk outfit The Gene Dudley Group, playing at major UK festivals such as Boomtown, Green Man, Shambala, Secret Garden Party and more.
