Winter is coming to Pop Brixton! The nights are drawing in, the leaves are turning and Pop Brixton’s annual Winter makeover is almost complete, meaning only one thing - Winter is coming and Brixton’s favourite shipping container village is almost ready for the festive season!
This year, the site will be transformed into an enchanting winter wonderland, using reclaimed and recycled materials to create an urban forest feel in the heart of South London. The roof is back, along with the all-important heaters, to warm up the long winter nights. Hanging fairy lights will mimic the night sky, and an urban woodland will be made using reclaimed timber, wreaths of ivy, salvaged oil drums and wooden cable reels for tables.
We will be closed from 16th-18th October for the roof to be raised, re-opening on 19th October.
To celebrate, we will be hosting our famous Raise the Roof event on Friday 20th October, 7pm-12am. The evening will include a special performance from Kasai Masai, the UK’s leading live performer of soukous, a fast-paced Congolese style of dance music, which will be part of Pop’s celebration of Black History Month. Entry is free, just turn up!
